We're going to offer him 10 plus million dollars to probably pitch half a year in the AL. I bold the AL, because he will be pitching in the AL, not the NL. I don't mind him being back, but the money he will be making will be an absurd amount I don't believe he deserve. The Sox will vastly over-pay for him for his one year service, maybe half year service.

I'd love to see Roger pitch with Boston again. He's a legend in my estimation.

And suddenly Boston will love him again. Some of the most offensive and vicious things I've heard Boston fans say in the past 8 years or so, have been directed at Clemens.

I think Clemens will return to Houston after May 1st. As Evangelion said, he's had a rebirth in the NL, so he'll stick with what works. Plus it's close to his home and his kid is in the organization.

The fans shouldn't be harsh on him. If it wasn't for Dan Duquette, Clemens may have stayed in Boston his whole career.

As much as I'd love it to happen, I'll believe it when I see it.

The Boston Herald claimes the Red Sox are preparing a video of fans urging Roger to come back and finish his carreer.
I think it would be a brilliant PR move on their part. Every Boston fan would love to see it, (wether they admit it or not.)
The price would be a little high...but for just one season.
                Picture this rotation:
                Roger Clemens
                Curt Schilling
David Wells(another article on the Boston Herald web site says he may now stay)
                Josh Becket
                Tim Wakefield

                That's a sick rotation.

I certainly wouldn't mind havig Clemens back, and I know I don't feel any resentment towards Clemens, he was forced out of Boston by Duquette and should have been with Boston all, or most, or even more than what happened, of his career.
"As I grew up, I knew that as a building (Fenway Park) was on the level of Mount Olympus, the Pyramid at Giza, the nation's capitol, the czar's Winter Palace, and the Louvre — except, of course, that is better than all those inconsequential places." - Bart Giamatti

You go through The Sporting News of the last 100 years and you will find two things are always true. You never have enough pitchers, and nobody ever made money.

That's what I used to tell my Boston friends when I lived up there, but they wouldn't have it. Almost all of them placed the blame squarely with Clemens, and they resented him vehemently.

It's funny you used the phrase "sick rotation." Wakefield is about the only won that I wouldn't put money for a trip to DL.

I hate to say it, DoubleX, but I often find you depressing, too.

I don't think you should be "sunshine" all the time...I just think your allegiance lends itself to a perceived tone. Certainly no need to remark "And suddenly Boston will love him again. This would be taken as a completely different comment coming from a Boston fan in the Boston forum, I think. Just food for thought.

I agree with Flash on Clemens. I'll believe this when I see it.

                            Soxson,

I originally posted a reply to you, but I deleted and decided it was probably better to just PM you, as to not further detract from the thread. Basic gist is, like I promised BB, I'll try to be more mindful of my surroundings. All I ask though is that you try to give me the benefit of the doubt.

I don't believe that Roger could finish his career in Boston... but yes, he'll wear a Red Sox cap in his Hall of Fame's plaque.
