Manny at API

I just read that Manny spent the offseason training at API, just like Nomah used to do.
Does that mean that Manny will spend 4/5 of the season on the DL and be totally ineffective when he does play, like the post-2004 Nomah?
I think that Hank Steinbrenner probably paid for this...

I think Nomar's API trip was the exception, not the rule. I believe Youk was there before last season, and I thought I read something about Pedroia being there at some point, as well.
