Am I the only one who thinks that a Dropkick Murphys song should replace Dirty Water as the first song played when the Sox win a home game? Tessie is more lively, better to sing along to, and most importantly, it's by a Boston band for the sake of the Red Sox themselves. Nothing against Dirty Water, but I think it should be moved down to second or third. The opening piano notes of Tessie or the mandolin of I'm Shipping Up To Boston have more impact than the single-note guitar line of Dirty Water. And before anybody tells me it's a long Boston tradition, Dirty Water has only been used as Sox games since 2001.

I can't stand Tessie ever since MVP 2005.

Given that Papelbon will be out there at the end of a lot of games, I'm partial to "Shippin' up to Boston." He seems to react strangely to that one.

i think "Shpping Up to Boston" should be the Red sox entrance music. right before the sox hit the field, que the song.

Me too. I've had to hear that song 500-1000 times. Dirty Water in the backround as Big Papi trots around the bases is too awesome of an experience to be messed with.

The song has been pushed to be his official entrance music, it's been used already as his warm up music so it's at least associated with him somewhat...
