  • 2008 expectations

with the season mearly weeks away i think it'd be nice to talk about our expectations or certain things we'd like to see this year from the sox or any other team for that matter. so let the conversation begin
    19
    Boston Red Sox
    31.58%
    6
    New York Yankees
    10.53%
    2
    New York Mets
    10.53%
    2
    Other
    47.37%
    9

    The poll is expired.

Tigers should probably be on a list like this, but honestly I actually see the Indians going the distance this year. They had a rotten year from Hafner last year and no one stepped up behind Carmona and Sabathia. They've got some good young players coming through and their bullpen was better at the end of the year than it was at the beginning thanks to Rafael Perez and Jensen Lewis.

i didn't fell like adding all 30 clubs so i added the three because the sox and the yanks are well the sox and the yanks and i chose the mets because they got #57

It is always a wild guess.

My good sense is telling me that the Red Sox will win it again. IMO they are the team to beat. But injuries and bad luck can ruin a season.

I won't be surprised if the Tigers or Indians will win it all.

But also NL's Dodgers or Braves may have a shot.

But again: It is a wild guess. I'll talk to you in October.

              Oddly enough, you didn't. :cap:

Well, that's because I think they are going to win it all.

I think that the lack of a decent bullpen will cost them.

I'm concerned that the Big Papi/Manny combo is not going to last for more than another season or two. You don't replace guys like that easily. Toss in Schilling and Wakefield's days are numbered and you are looking at a very good team, but not a great team. I see another battle to the wire with the Yankees.

well i guess me and all sox fans can enjoy the time we have left at the top of the league until its back to the old "its a tie between boston and new york heading into #162"

I mean that the Sox will win it again (hope not of course...).

The Yankees will not reach the World Series or even the play offs because of their bullpen.

But again, everything is possible. I don't have a crystal bowl. I hope I am mistaken.

next time don't pick only 3 teams of who will win the WS. Makes sense, especially when the Tigers are probably second on my list, and they aren't even there.
