Baseball is analyzed statistically to a degree that no other sport really approaches. Well, here are some unofficial statistics on Baseball Fever posts among Red Sox Nation:
5.3 negative posts per Red Sox loss, on average,
0.2 positive posts per Red Sox win, on average.
When someone makes an error, or when relief pitchers give up runs, or when someone hits into a double play, and we lose, there seems to be lots of moaning and groaning and explanations of how much better things would be if the *&%$# management would only follow our well-thought out advice.
But when nobody makes any grievous errors, and when the relief pitchers do their jobs the way we hope they will, and when when we hit into just one double play, and we win, there is almost total silence.
I wonder why it's like that.
