Sox acquire C David Ross from SD

The Sox finally acquired John Flaherty's replacement ,after he retired, on Wednesday from the Padres to whom they traded C Doug Mirabelli and from whom they acquired 2b Mark Loretta , the Sox and Padres seem to be in good terms recently.

Dave ross has more major leaugue experiance than the other two choices. (169 games to 156 and 153) But he is not all that good. Most backup catchers arent anyways (besides doug mirribelli). But I dont think this is a major upgrade from Bard. Bard still has a higher average, more RBI's, and a better on base percentage. Ross has more homers and sluging percentage. Bard has more assists and putouts and both have the same fielding percentage. Also Bard has caught some this spring training with wakefield. I believe Bard is better and still the better choice but it wont make a huge diffrence
