Apparently this guy doesn't know which side of his face he's talking out of...

"If he was any kind of a man, he would quit talking about things in the paper and return a phone call or come knock on someone's door. If I had the kind of problems evidently he had with me, I would go knock on his door," he said.

It seems to me based on the report that he does have a problem with Frank Thomas and I wonder how many times he's knocked on Frank's door?

And White Sox fans, before you fly off the handle thinking I'm criticizing your organization, don't. I think they're poised to repeat this year but I don't agree with how they handled Frank Thomas.

He went a little too far with the "we loaned him money" part

But we always expect GM's to take and take it from prioma donna athletes...I say good for Kenny for having enough of Frank's mouth the last 5 or so years and bringing his past right into his face

Now Thomas says "We shouldn't talk about this"

I'm pretty sure that "knocking on his door" just means that kenny's not going take shots at frank through the media, like thomas does, but he would call him, or talk to him instead if he has beef. I agree w/ most of what kenny said, but that part about money was a little weird. Kenny was right to just stop hiding in the corner from frank, and finally step up for the organization. Frank, just like every other star, uses his mouth however he pleases, and thinks he's the only person in the organization. I just hope this doesnt hurt franks hof chances.

This whole episode really is too bad. It's a shame that the best player in our history is being treated like this, but he basically brought it upon himself. I think Frank just has to realize that Ken did what he thought was best for the team. Although I love Frank he really needs to realize that players do get traded in their careers, no matter how good they were with their previous orginization.

You're clearly missing the point...by saying the things he did about Thomas, he's clearly showing he has a problem with Frank's comments unless of course you think calling someone an idiot isn't indicative of having a problem with somone.

Kenny Williams evidently talked to him about things by knocking on his door, especially the "dimished skills" clause of Frank's contract

When you try and keep it private and a player comes out and after getting his butt kissed in the parade and trophy ceremony and tosses a grenade out the door, I don't blame Kenny at all for having enough and spilling the beans about the strained relationship...he knocked on Thomas' door enough since he got there

I agree Thomas has been a whiner IMA but that's not the point. In one breath this guy is openly calling Thomas an idiot(which he maybe) and in the next, he's saying if he had a problem like that, he would be knocking on his door.

Williams said if HE (frank Thomas) had the problems with being disprespected, then he should have come to the organization privately. And if WIlliams felt that HE was in Thomas place (with being disprespected at the end of his career) he would have gone to the GM or owner

So its not hypocrisy from what I read, he is putting himself in Thomas' shoes, which I do not really condone, as its a strawman arguement...but its not hypocrisy

You really don't get the point do you Iam? Regardless of how Thomas has behaved, Williams has said one thing about how things should be handled and not followed his own advice...it's that simple.

But enough was enough. KW meant come up to me if you have a problem in the first place. Frank had been dissing the organzation, dissing KW and dissing Jerry publicly for months now. I for one am glad KW took a stand, enough is enough. You cannot let somebody walk all over your organzation like that. And even more so because KW has an awful history with Billy Beane and more then likely feels the Beane is in Franks ear about continuing the assault. Put yourself in KW's shoes before you critize him.

I dont agree with the whole public feud garbage, but Frank was done wrong Plain and simple. They should have restructured a new deal, like he has now in Oak town, let him get his 500 and a ring(another one) with the Sox and retire. They played it up like they were keeping him, by letting him in the parade stuff, and first pitch stuff, then Say see ya later. They sign Thome, which I am happy about, but he's been as injured or more than Frank and hasn't done anything on the field that Frank hasnt done, in fact Frank has done more, so I really dont see it as that big of an improvement for the team aside from being a lefty.


Seems K dub is all about business and $$$ for another title. Dont worry about the fact that Frank has been the Face of the organization for 16 years, and that he has team records in nearly all offensive categories. I just dont think it was right to handle it the way they did with the best player in team history. IMO
