Ring Ceremony Was Awesome!
This afternoon,the White Sox picked up thier World Series rings in a very nice ceremony at US Cellular Field.
There were many emotional moments around during the ceremony,like when HOF shortstop Luis Aparicio was brought out to get his ring.It was a great moment.
But one of the most emotional moments came when fan favorite and now Philadelphia Phillies OF Aaron Rowand had his name called to recieve his ring.He got perhaps the longest and loudest ovation of the afternoon.Rowand was all choked up from the moment.
It was also great for players like Brandon McCarthy,Brian Anderson,and those who played sparingly,and were not on the post season roster,as they also recieved World Series rings.
In all,432 rings and pendants will be given out to players,wives,significant others,past greats like Carlton Fisk,families of past owners,such as the Comiskey family,Mary Frances Veeck and the John Allyn family.
It was a great moment in White Sox history this afternoon.
Let's hope we don't have to wait another 88 years for another ring ceremony.
