  • Paulie hits number 400.

Congrats to Paul Konerko on hitting his 400th career homerun.

Paul Konerko has recently garnered some well deserved milestones, including his 2,000th hit - late last year, his 2,000th game - during the first week of this season, and his 400th home run - yesterday. With three hits in yesterday's game reached a second milestone: 2,000 hits with the White Sox (Currently with 2001 hits with CWS and 2049 hits overall.) If he stays healthy he should reach 2,000 games with the White Sox by July, and he's closing in on 400 home runs with the "Pale Hose" also.
His current 393 home runs with the White Sox makes him the second-ranked home run hitter in White Sox franchise history, with Konerko trailing only Frank Thomas (448 HR).

Great! Paulie has been the most consistent player the White Sox have had since I moved to Chicago and started cheering for them. He's long been one of my personal favorites.

Paulie is what and how players should play the game and conduct themselves on and off the field. Truely a first class human being.

Seems like yesterday when Konerko and Dye both hit 300 home runs in the same game.

Actually, they didn't each hit 300 home runs in the same game, they each hit their 300th home run-not only in the same game, but back-to-back. As I recall it, and I wish I could find the damned post I did at the time, they were also nearly identical in batting average, RBI's and a few other stats at the time.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.
