  • What is with the Rays throwing at hitters.

Am I wrong on this? I dont really know the story in Boston and the Rays but apparently the Rays hit two Whitesox batters. I'm not sure if they were purpose pitches but it seems like they have a reputation of throwing at hitters.

I dont understand why our pitcher gets tossed for throwing behind one of their guys either. Hawk Harrelson was really upset over that one. It was actually kinda funny listening to him.

If I could I would post a video of Harrelsons rant.

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

From what I heard is the Rays pitcher hit Pierszynski for a hard slide he made. I think the Sox pitcher was just protecting his teammates. Although the Sox pitcher says it wasnt a purpose pitch.
