  • Sox win in 14 innings

That was a great game which ended after midnight a 14 inning seesaw game. Kevin Youkilis was named player of the game again and like Jake Peavy said last week the Sox really have to grind wins if they wanna keep the Tigers and Indians from winning. Last night really showed that the Sox might not go away to easily.

One thing I didn't like was Quintana got roughed up and Konerko looks really bad at the plate right now. But Dunn and Rios both hit homeruns to keep their comeback player of the year status in good shape and Pierzynski had a nice day at the plate and if Viciendo ever starts to take pitches he could become a real force at the plate for us. He also hit a homerun.

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

Hopefully Peavy and Sale pitch can help out the bullpen today and tomorrow by going deep in the games.
