  • Help Identifying White Sox Players from 1980's

    Hello All,

A good friend of mine (he essentially became my adopted grandfather) used to travel to spring training every year, and take his camera with him. He would print dupes of all the photos he took, and give copies to me. I was just a kid, and would try to use baseball cards, yearbooks, etc to help identify the players. There were a ton of photos, and I never got around to completing the project before he died. Well, I came across some of the photos in the back of my closet, and thought that there was no better time than the present to finish it off. But I could use your help.

Do you recognize any of these, they were taken in the mid-1980's.

    Thanks, for the help.

I'm pretty sure the guy in the bottom two pics is Bobby Molinaro, don't know about the others.

Those uniforms are are the 1976-1981 models, if that helps anybody with further identification.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

I think Minnie Minoso is in the one where the players are autographing baseballs. Maybe Ron Leflore is in the picture.

I was thinking it might be Minoso... but I was havig a hard time determining.

Molinaro, I would never have guessed... but after looking on google images, I think you may be right. Thanks for the help!

One more White Sox player to go....

I'm thinking that it's Dennis Lamp now.

I'm pretty sure the one in the middle is Guy Hoffman.

It could be, I think these photos are from 1981 spring training and Hoffman didn't play for the Whitesox that year but he probably was invited to spring training camp in 1981.

This photo obviously is from 1983 though.
