  • Good seats?

RF Grandstand, Sec. 105, Row C

Picked up two tix here from stubhub for one of the BoSox games early May

never sat near here before...any thoughts? will I get some good views, or come away wishing I got my tix in the normal place from my regular guy?

personally I don't care for the outfield seats in comerica, One thing I can tell you is that you're near the grandstand, and that's easily the loudest/most alive part of the park.

they've yet to be sent to me. I bought them online through stubhub.com
I figure they'll be coming from someone who bought a package.

Could also be a season ticket holder selling off extras

You'll be a long way from home plate that's for sure

I've sat in that area before. That's the "cheap" seat area, so I hope you didn't spend too much! I've had fun sitting out there though, because the people get relatively rowdy out there. I sat there for a game against the Yankees a few years ago and there were a bunch of Panamanian fans visiting from Toronto. They were in town to root for one of the Yankee pitchers. They were having a good old time, chanting, waving banners etc., which made it pretty fun to sit in the area.

In the future, use this ticket service below for best prices.

What should I have paid for 2 there, estimated?
edit.. it is prime location for an Ortiz HR though.

The Tiger website says $12 per ticket in that area.

I don't know if they've changed the seating configuration now that they've moved the bullpen, but I always thought the best place to get a HR ball in the park would be to sit on the "foul" side of the tunnel near where the bullpen used to be. Lots of balls flew into the tunnel area, but those that were close gave people in the rail seats plenty of extra opportunity, because of the lack of competition.

well, It says RF grandstand tickets go for $22
which is what the tix are listed as... yet they are also listed as sec. 105 ($12)
perhaps i'm missing something. either way i'm in the house for one game regardless. i smoke cancer sticks so i usually spend 2 good innings or so in the smoking section behind section 120-ish anyways ... close to the mens room though

                          Good Seats

Hey Ypsi, bring binoculars, your way out in right field. When you try to buy from the Tigers web site and choose best available seats, they always try to stick you behind home plate. Just out of curiousity who considers those good seats? I much prefer along the first base line. That's where most of the action takes place.
Last year I went to at least one game a month and had seats ranging from lower deck almost right behind home plate close enough to see individual blades of grass, upperdeck front row behind the glass which was filthy and the metal molding on the top of it obstructed my fiew of the infield, to section 145 with the foul pole directly between me and home plate (NEVER AGAIN!).
I have opening day tix for section 218 almost directly inline with the corner of the visitor's dugout and 1st base. Should be good seats.

Should be, as long as you have binoculars and a load of patience to put up with the Opening Day drunks.........

Just kidding with you, I'm one of those bitter Tiger Stadium slappies. I sat in the same area for the All Star game in 05'. Good view of the entire field, but anything in Comerica's upper deck is just too far for me, would rather watch on TV.

As far as the original posters question, you'll be very close to the field and in HR terrritory, but don't expect to get a feel for infield ball trajectory or the interaction between the pitcher and home plate, just a fact about sitting in 1 tier outfield seats. THe atmosphere will be good though.

I know what you mean. The 1st game I went to at The "CoPa" (The bank hates it being called that) I had box seats right over first base. I thought, "Cool, These are great seats!". In Tiger Stadium they woulda been Super.. But I couldn't believe how far away from the field they were. I guess that's the price you pay for no obstructed view seats. Although I learned the hard way there are a few..
