Last night was a great win. It was good to see Sanchez thrown the ball as well as he did. His fastball was in the mid 90's and he had great control over all of his pitches. I am glad he is finally starting to get used to AL batters. I cant recall many of the outs ever even leaving the infield. I am glad Leyland is finally starting to field his best lineup. But if the Tigers actually make the postseason, who will be on the roster and who will be left off? I firmly believe that the between Garcia and Boesch, Boesch would be the odd man out. He is struggling at the plate as of late. I expect the to keep Berry on the roster because of his speed and baserunning ability.

Will the Tigers go with a 4 or rotation for the playoffs? If they go with a 4 man rotation, who is going to left out? I think Porcello would most likely be the one that would be moved to long reliever. He has the highest ERA and least amount of K's out of the rotation. But I think on any given day Porcello can go up against the best lineup and dominate.

IF the Tigers make the playoffs....I'm as big a Tiger fan as they come, but I'm trying to stay even-keeled for now. You know how the White Sox have lost six of seven games because they just can't score? This Tiger team is fully capable of doing just that at the drop of a hat.

I don't think Avisail (spelling?) Garcia is eligible for a post-season roster spot. He's done a great job and it would be nice to have him as an option instead of Boesch.

As to the rotation, I would drop Porcello for the simple reason that he can't go beyond four or five innings without getting smacked around. He wears out the bullpen. Also, sinkerball specialists aren't a good fit for this team's defensive (ahem...) liabilities.

Anyway, welcome to the board guru. We need more Tiger fans around here.

Oh, I almost forgot...The Tigers won today. Isn't that nice.

about time. nothing about against the Chi-Sox, as they are a fine team..and Ventura has done a great job in his rookie season..BUT this team should have RUN away ..from everyone ...come the end of their bombastic season, this team neeeds some major tweaks..and LEYLAND and his lame-ola staff, needs to go. world series or not. CLEAN HOUSE.

Should they have? It's always been a young team with only a couple of top level offensive players in the regular lineup. The same with the pitching ranks. Outside of Verlander it's a young staff. Pitching is never guaranteed. To be honest, they did not deserve the hype they received before the year started. The expectations were not realistic. That is not Leyland's fault.

I don't know if that "youth" argument flies. Yeah, the team got a bit younger with Ordonez leaving (replaced at the plate by Fielder) and V-Mart being out. But even with those two off the roster, I don't think that's the problem.

The bullpen probably pitched way above itself last year. They've blown a lot of late-inning leads this year. The middle infield has blown a lot of double plays. Leyland tinkers with the lineup far too often.

LEYLAND still needs to go. take the staff with him. clean house. but it's not my decision. the owner and DD...heck, then where is his extension ? Unless Leyland WINS the WS, he's gone. Thanks for all you have done Jim..but it's time to move forward.

If there is actually a plan on what to do, sure. But change for the sake of change is not a good thing, necessarily.
Or have you forgotten the 100-loss years and legitimately bad managers Tiger fans had to endure for over a decade before Leyland came into the picture.

Is anyone even being groomed to be Leyland's replacement? Is there a succession plan in place? I don't know of a single fan who would want to go through the lack of leadership at any level on the team they went through pre-Leyland, even if it means Leyland sticks around another decade.
