Kaline has always been a humble, genial man. Not very controversial. While any success story is worth telling, I'm not positive there'd be a huge market for it. My favorite player, Carl Yastrzemski, released his second autobiography about the time he got elected to the HOF. Some funny stories, especially about Luis Aparcio, but nothing ground-shaking. It wasn't long before it went to the remainder shelf.

    Sup Captain,

It is rather peculiar you mentioned Yaz and Kaline in the same post. I have always felt that there are many similarities between the two players. My pops loved both of them. I wore #8 starting in Little League baseball because of Carl, although my favorite Red Sox player ended up being Fred Lynn ( I was joyous when he played here for a year or two). I started out a Red Sox fan until the “hometeam” had something to bring to the diamond.

Anyhows, speaking of baseball books, I just read “Mr 40/40” Jose Canseco’s “Juiced”. I know I am a few years behind the times, a “Laggard” in marketing terms .I thought it was a pretty good book. He made many valid points and the reading was very easy, in fact, I read it in a half a day; however, I do not agree with everything he presented.
