  • Kenny Lofton?

Anyone interested in Lofton as our leadoff hitter centerfielder. He hits for average, does he still have the range to play minute maid's centerfield?
If you listen to Ed Wade and Cecil Cooper they are not giving up on Bourn, but at some point......

There is no reason to give up on Bourn. He's shown too much potential to give up now. He's one of the best baserunners in the league and an elite fielder. He's essentially a rookie, so let him adjust. Plus why get Lofton when we have Darin Erstad if Bourn can never get out of the funk. Just move Pence to leadoff and bat Erstad 6th.
Craig Biggio- the Astros' great one, Mr. 3000

Astros will win the NL Central
Saints will win the NFC South
Hornets will be NBA Champions next year
LSU Football & Basketball will be SEC champs
Great Season LSU Baseball Tigers! I enjoyed every moment of it and look forward to a title run next year.

I am not ready to give up on him yet but you could add Lofton and cut Cruz Jr. and have another nice bat, legs, and glove off the bench. Because we are getting nothing from Cruz JR. Also at some point we have to consider not giving 4 ab's a game to a guy who can barely hit his weight. I want Bourn to succeed and I agree that he needs more time, but Lofton is a nice free agent that I am surprised is still out there.

There is no point in going after Lofton unless you think the Astros are a serious contender. You don't want to suppress a young player's development when all you are fighting for is third in the division.

Well I am with you in one sense, I think they might be, too early to tell, but I know one thing for sure they need a pitcher to be a serious contender in the playoffs, and if they are going to spend money on one player this year It might ought to be a starting pitcher, of course they should get W rod back and some time soon.
