  • Feel Bad For You Guys

Just want to say I feel really bad for you Royal fans, given what the last 20 or so years have been.

You guys are very brave to be sticking with this team, considering the owner and that the team parted with such good players (Beltran, Damon).

Hard to believe that your team was once a baseball king for a decade.

You guys deserve better. As an Indian fan, I suffered through some ugly seasons and players departures too.

P.S. Nice win, BTW. You've already done the Tribe well!

Hopefully with a new manager and GM we will see some turn arounds on this ball club in the next few years.

It has been awhile in KC. Definitely let some good players go, but that is way it is today. Hopefully with the GM and new manager things are on the way back.

I grew up in KS and got into baseball in the mid-70's and was lucky enough to see Goerge Brett in his prime along with players like White, Wilson, Leonard, Gura, Splittorff and others. Of course at the time, I didn't realize how lucky I truly was. Now it is a different game in a sense. It would be harder for a small market area like KC to keep a team together the way they did in the 70's and early 80's. That era is probably gone for good. That doesn't mean there won't be some good years to come, but it is safe to say those "generational" teams won't stay together the way they used to. I can remember more or less growing up with a stable core group of players that you knew were always going to be there.

Geez, sympathy from a guy whose team hasn't won a World Series in 60 years.

          Been There, Done That

It's been so long since KC was a factor. Having grown up with a dreadful team & embarrasing ownership, I feel for you, as could any Met fan of my age. We've suffered through a few bad stretches since, but none as long as yours.
You did have an amzing, sustained run once, however, where the Royals were a gold standard in baseball. That's something Met fans never had.
Having been to KC, I can say - it's a great baseball town, terrific, knowledgable & friendly fans, and the ballpark was beautiful.
You're all true die hard fans. You deserve a winning team one of these days and when you get it, man how sweet it'll be !
I'm pulling for you in spirit !

If the fans will show up at the park that's even better. :gt

if the fans turn out, the team might even discover that great and mysterious truth that Winning Is Profitable and who knows where KC could go?

i think that's the thing right there....fans must show up for the team to do better. It's hard to be a winner when you feel that no-one is cheering you on.
So come on fans, baseball is baseball...win or lose...support your team! Don't be fair weather fans.

The Royals pitching staff looks good this season, especially the bullpen. Alex Gordon may hit 30+ homers. Billy Butler may bat .320 or more. The Royals are on the right track. I wouldn't be suprised if they finished around or above .500.

I agree. What a team that was. Brett, Otis, Frank White etc. The Royals deserve to be back in the thick of it. I heard a good interview with Brett over the AS break. He makes it sound as if the organization had a lot of catching up to do, but now they are laying the groundwork for a solid future. I hope its true.

I disagree, the Royals are scoring more and are not in last place.

The thing about the Royals is that if they ever make the playoffs, every one would root for them.
