Tom Mee was a longtime Director of Media Relations for the Twins.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The man who many regard as the first employee of the Minnesota Twins has died.

Tom Mee held many roles within the Twins organization, most notably director of media relations for 30 years and then the team’s official scorer.

Russ Nixon played for the Twins in 1966 and 1967, hitting .244 in 125 games.

Former Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves manager Russ Nixon died this week at age 81.

Nixon, a Cleves native and Western Hills High School graduate, played in more than 900 games over 12 seasons as a catcher before ending his career in 1968.
