This was a tough one. I went with Nettles for his power numbers and glovework, but I could definitely understand choosing Red Rolfe as well.

My favorite Nettles memory was when he was doing his best Brooks Robinson imitation in the 1978 World Series.

I would think ARod needs to be on this list.

He is more of a rangers player.

Nettles by a wide margin. But if you give him a couple more years, It'll probably be ARod.

Welcome back ARod. Hope you are a Yankee forever.

Yankee fans back then had come to expect it from him.

He only played 3 seasons with the Rangers and is in his 3rd with the Yankees. And with his contract will end up playing the next 4 years minimum in NY.

When all is said and done A-Rod should be 1st but right now Graig Nettles has the lead by a wide margin.

I chose Nettles. Good power hitter and an excellent fielder.

The only way to get on my lists for the all time teams polls is by playing a minimum of five seasons with that team. Maybe ARod will be here in 2008.

I'd go Nettles as well but after a year or two more it'll be A-Rod all the way.

Scott Brosius deserves a mention for what he did for the 90's Yankee championship team. Of course, not saying he's an Hall of Famer or the best Yankee 3B of all time. Just deserve a mention.

Like Rickey_Henderson said, when it's all said and done, A-Rod probably go down as one of the best 3B, if he stays with the Yankees after his current contract is up. But at the moment, Nettles hands down is the best 3B of all time for the Yankees.

Nettles should have won some Gold Gloves. Unfortunately there was some guy in Baltimore that owned the award.
He did win two. But he could have won more.

At $25M...($18M paid by Yanks).....I seriously doubt seeing someone else take a 33YO player with that much baggage.

He's here for the duration and then some.
"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio
