I'm unsure of the actual day, but someone told me it was yesterday, Fri, 2/24/06. Anyway, here's some pix:

These don't display for some reason, so please just click on the links.

Now please try to hide your eyes before viewing this one below:

Here are a few other closeups (a might too close, I would imagine):

Who's the guy posing with Mariano Rivera? I don't recognize him.

I think it's Cano. His upper body looks a lot bigger.

        Bernie is looking old.

          I just noticed something interesting.

Jeter wears his belt backwards. The 'toungue' points to his right.

Is it superstition or is it just his way? Or am I just making something out of nothing (most likely)

Cano recently said he added 10 pounds over the offseason.

Woah, I didn't even know that was Cano at first with Mo.

Isn't Giambi going to have to shave?

The close ups reminded me of this old Gehrig photo:

A lot of people say this honor validates my career, but I didn't work hard for validation. I didn't play the game right because I saw a reward at the end of the tunnel. I played it right because that's what you're supposed to do, play it right and with respect. If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. - Ryne Sandberg

Except that was likely taken wiht a slightly wide-ish lens (like a 70mm on a 35mm camera), whereas the others were made with a telephoto (the long one of Unit looks like one of those "bird" lenses, like a 200mm or so).

Notice the size of Gehrig's schnozz. I've never noticed his nose being that big before. Cameras were very different back then also.

                      Nice find

Man Cano looks like he packed on more than 10lbs. I hope he doesn't try too hard to slug with the other heavy swingers. Team doesn't need more power (duh) but more avg and obp (which him being young and an islander he needs to work on a bit) .320 obp... :noidea

Good pick up on Jeter, I didn't even notice. Gonna definitely pay attention during the season now to see if he does it regularly or if he just spazzed out for the photo session...

Giambi always seems to have 5 o'clock shadow...

Randy Johnson definitely is the most "intimidating" player in baseball...
