  • Joba has a son??

I was reading Bryan Hoch's MLBlog and this is what he wrote:

"Joba Chamberlain was swinging a long athletic sock around his shoulder with three baseballs in it. Though it'd probably make a handy way to ward off a mugger, Joba is collecting autographs to help decorate his son's bedroom. Chamberlain said he's already scored signatures from most of the star players on the Yankees, as well as a few jerseys."

I hadn't realized Joba is a father; does anyone know any more information??

Is he a father, or is he an expecting father?

He is a father. Google is your friend but I doubt there's anything really interesting about the child of a top pitching prospect(even one as popular as Joba).
After an offseason scare with blood clots, Shelley Duncan said yesterday he feels "wonderful -- like a stallion"

I couldn't find anything about it on google. Google has failed me.

I guess I am a liar then. Google is not always your friend.

Let's sign this kid to a 25 year, $582 million dollar contract.

            Can never start too young.

I would tack a club option on to that.

yea they showed a picture of him and his son in a sports illustrated article awhile back. probably around sept or october. he's not married.

its a great article about him and his dad's struggles as he was growing up.

An excerpt from the sportsillustrated article 'yankees82' mentioned

All those references to his tribe and his gratitude and his dad and his sister and now, too, his baby son, Karter, the one born 17 months ago to him and the girlfriend he met at Nebraska-Kearney, Alicia Mueller. The child that it kills him to be absent from, in this summer of leaps that Karter and Alicia couldn't possibly make with him, the baby that he's planning to have on his hip next season in New York so that he can begin his attempt at the biggest leap of all: the bar his father set.
