ERA, error?

yankees official site has mussina as 3.09 era last night. how so? 1 er x 9 divided by 6 innings pitched is 1.5? their pitcher allowed 4 er in in 6 pithced, hence 6 era. am i mad?

and are the bats slowly waking up?

I believe 3.09 is Mussina's ERA for the entire year thus far (or his two starts), and I presume the same thing goes for the other pitcher.
