Why Matsui? I don't know if you've noticed, but Matsui has been hitting pretty well so far this year. If anyone needs to go in the OF, it's Damon, despite his superior defense in LF.

Trust me, it would take a motherload of talent to pry Joey Votto out of the Reds hands. A Cincy scout I am friendly with told me he is essentially untouchable.

Rob Neyer agrees that the Yankees need to cut ties with Jason Giambi and I agree 100%

The Yanks should cut Jason Giambi and go with Shelly Duncan primarily. He can do no worse that Giambi is doing now...and that's offensively and defensively.

Next on the list to go should be Mike Mussina.
I'm not for cutting him yet, but I'd want to get Darrell Rasner a few starts.
He was very solid for the Yanks last season prior to his injury. Early on, the man was the best Starter for the Yanks and he should get first licks at Mussina's spot.

If I can take Hughes and Kennedy getting the crap kicked out of them...I can put up with Duncan throwing the ball into left field every so often. If they won't release Giambi...at least sit him. Let it sink into his head he is going to making significantly less money next year....

No, we`re all frustrated with him but we`re less than a month into the season. They`re paying his salary anyway. They should give him some more time.

Giambi likely won't make a scene if he received less playing time like Thomas or make a stink. Also, the situation with Thomas and Toronto is much different than Giambi and New York. Giambi won't be released, but being bench if he continues to struggle is a high possibility. Giambi did hit a HR tonight and he should receive more time.

I'm sure most people can't wait until his contract, along with his baggage, is gone from the New York Yankees at the end of the season.

Why would they demote him, which I believe they can't do. He first after to go through waivers, then accept an assignment to minor league system. He would never make it past waivers since a team would pick him up despite his poor start. Don't quote me on that since I'm not hundred percent sure.

Pavano is on the DL indeed. But the Yankees asked him to go to the minors to free a spot on the 40 man roster. So IMO it is similar, or am I wrong?

That is why I am asking. I do not know all those rules regarding this matter.

nope, the Yanks would have to put him on waviers and some would nab him & the yanks still might have to pay him. Like it or not they are stuck with him.
