I think taht Bernie's slowness reflected onto the entire team's starting out slow for years. Kind of like the domino effect of one guy starting slow, so everyone got into the same groove.

I think that in the meanwhile, a few walks would certainly help, rather than fanning or GIDPing. Getting his eye adjusted to know which pitches to lay off from would help him once he starts hitting again anyway.

1st post. I like Cano. He has a lot of potential and I think he's just in an early season funk...at least I hope that to be so.

Since Cano's debut in '05, only Chase Utley has more hits of all MLB players. He starts like this every year. He will hit .320 again

    LOL @ Hank.

A team can blow a few April games and at the end lose by a few

    What a waste
Isn't he at his best when the games start to matter? I figure you rather have a hot Cano during September oppose to April.

On July 1st, he was batting .269 with 3 HRs on the season. Then in July he batted .385 with 6 HR and 24 RBI. Historically April and May are his worst months. Hopefully he gets going again soon.

He has hit a lot of balls hard that just haven't found holes. Every year there always seems to be one guy in the lineup that can't buy those 5-6 extra hits on hard liners or dunkers that would have thier average looking a lot more respectable. I can remember at least 4-5 hard line outs that he's hit early on.

Eventually things will even out and when he has a couple good games he'll stop pressing so much and he'll be ok.
Agreed. Since it's been a pattern for Cano the past couple of seasons, I don't see why he won't continue the pattern this season. He had a poor start in 06 and manage to reach .342 and last season, he manage to reach over .306. I do see Cano turning it around when the offense starts turning it around, similar to last season when every player not name Jeter, Posada and A-Rod were in a flunk.

I know about slumps but this is terrible
He was quite terrible to start last season, too. I won't be too worried.
