    Is this thread really necessary?

    I'd recommend it be closed!
"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio

Nope Wolfie...you only tear down Yankees without Rings. That's your niche.

Let me put it this way: If Hank and his dad would have known this, they would have traded them for Santana. But I still think that they will come around. And if they do, they will be around longer than Santana.

And they still won't get us as much as Johan could. See: Josh Beckett to the Red Sox.

Hindsight is easier than foresight, but it isn't always more accurate. In the world of baseball next year could see a complete turn around in the fortunes of Santana and Hughes.

Nah. I'll tear down any player no matter who they play for who people think is great because of individual stats but does not have the ability to help their team win WS.

No doubt about it. I understand we don't have the greatest past history with some of the past big names that we signed in terms of pitching. But you have to understand that we went after A LOT of big name pitchers who were past their prime. Santana still has a lot of quality seasons and quality innings left in him.

They should had pulled the trigger on that move from the start!

It's yet another reason why Cashman is in the hot seat.
