My favorite past player i would say is tino martinez and paul oneil for the intensity that the championship teams of the late 90s thrived off.

PResent would also be a tie between jeter and A-rod. Jeter for his clutch hitting, great post seasons. A-rod for his 40-50 hr seasons and ability to make those around him great.

All time i would say is Mickey mantle/joe dimmagio.

Derek Jeter is the best Yankee in my lifetime. He truly deserves to be captain.

Past....The Mick.....just watching him in batting practice was awesome.

Present.....Jetes.......getting hit pretty good in the hand and playing the next day is just one reason.

AROD...because not that many New York fans like him and he is on my fantasy team. It will be fun to watch him chase the records and restore order to the game of baseball

All Time is Thurman Munson. He was the toughest player I ever saw. On the current team would be Jeter.

    Jeter for me.

I think he is a class act. Plays the game with style. Carries himself with character.

    sorry, two of each, haha.

present: Jeter and Mo. Classy guys who know how to play the game.

past: Lou Gerhig and Paul O'Neill. Gerhig is one of the most inspiring sports figures in history and O'Neill is a classic Yankee who played hard, spoke his mind, and was a favorite of the fans.

I'm 18 years old so I've obviously never had the priviledge to watch Mickey Mantle play, but all-time he's my favorite player. I guess if someone asked me to pick one person I'd say Jorge Posada but really as of right now I don't have a definitive favorite player, my favorite player changes with the year. In '06 it was Damon cause that year he had a good way of sparking the offense and I liked what he brought to the team, and I always really liked him even when he was on Boston and I was happy I was able to finally root for him. Last year it was A-Rod hands down, the guy really made it a fun year even when we were down early. Just watching his every at-bat and almost expecting that big hit or HR it was fun. This year no one has really stepped up and become my favorite.

Actual: Bob Abreu because he's Venezuelan and i'm proud.. there's other venezuelans but Bobby is the best of them.. even if i hate his venezuelan team (Leones del Caracas)

History: Reggie Jackson... he is just a legend in baseball.

P.D.: I'm a Red Sox fan.. but i can still say that you got good players haha

I started following baseball in 1982 and George Brett is my favorite player ever by far. Back then I also liked Mike Schmidt a lot too and Dave Winfield was my favorite Yankee. After he left my favorite guy was Randy Velarde. I remember after the 1995 season he offered to take a huge pay cut to stay with the Yankees and I've liked him even more since.

I didn't have a true favorite Yankee player until Mariano became a demigod. My other favorite player is Arod, who I like equally with Mariano. I always liked and admired him but I didn't love Arod until 2006 when everyone started booing him. I started getting into arguments with other fans in the bleachers about how good of a player he was and I started rooting for him to do better. I also like Phil Hughes and Mike Mussina a lot too.

Non Yankees I love to watch: Pat Neshek, Vladimir Guerrero, Ichiro, David Wright, and BJ & Justin Upton.

    Scott
