Farnsworth got into some trouble in Chicago too because he was inconsistent and because of his erratic behavior. If he can stay out of the bars at night and keep his mind on his business he might have a chance to do ok.

Unless he can come close to Flash Gordon or Tom has a horrible year than they likely should have made the short term decision and given Flash the 4th year

I thought Gordon was underappreciated for what he did. I think Gordon did a great job as set up man except for the playoffs. Obviously the Yankees have to get to the playoffs first. I'm curious to see how The Farns will do. So far in ST I'm not seeing very good signs.

By signing with the Yanks he's basically saying he'd rather be a setup man than a closer.....that says all I need to know about his psyche. h

If Farnsworth is a bust, I can see him being replaced mid-season by a pitcher you signed during the off-season due back from injury at mid-season in Dotel. I think Farnsworth will be a bust, but I think Dotel will come in and become the setup man the Yankees will need.
