  • Best Yankees hitter?

Who do you think is the best yankees hitter? considering the whole career it's Arod of course but who is the best now?
When talking about the best hitter right now I like to consider about the last 2.5 seasons or so since one season can always be a fluke good or bad. sample size helps but going back too long would not value improvement or decline enough.

I think the best hitter right now is cano. he is having a monster year after a very bad april and was very good last year too.

Robinson Cano of course. And he's been their best hitter for 3 or 4 years now.

I went with Cano also. Tex and Granderson would be my next choices with Jeter, Arod and Swisher being the next three.

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

Cano. Not even close. Granderson is a distant second. Third? That's tough.

Agreed. Cano and it's not even close!
"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio

Cano in a landslide, which is very impressive considering he's a 2nd baseman. He might be the best Yankees 2nd baseman ever.

LOL ... Funny, because I voted before reading the OP, so I voted for Jeter. I simply thought it was a no-brainer. Turns out I was the one with no brains for not reading first.

Only other thing I can say is it's appropriate that Swisher's name wasn't capitalized in the poll.
                Put it in the books.

So did I, I thought it meant career, and no way I was gonna vote for A-Rod. It's Cano, for sure.
Lou Gehrig is the Truest Yankee of them all!
