  • Yanks nearing deal for Steve Pearce?

Not sure I get this. Didn't they let him go earlier?

They let him go due to him having an opt out clause in his contract. Anyway, he is back with the Yankees and Laird has been DFA'd to make room for him.

Personally, sick of Cashman bringing in never beens or never will be's.

Why not give move Chavez to 1B in the meanwhile, and bring in someone to play 3B? Say Joseph?!
"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio

I'd rather have this Steven Pearcy (I know, slightly different spelling) on the team...

Lou Gehrig is the Truest Yankee of them all!
