  • MR. RAUL-tober!

Where are the raves today about the new Mr. well...Mr. Raul-tober!?

Ibanez pinch-hits for A-Rod, one of the greatest HR hitters of all time, in the bottom of the 9th, one run down against the Orioles, and on first pitch he sees, hits game-tying homer. Then, in bottom of 12th--again on lst pitch against new pitcher--smashes the walk-off, 3-2, game winner!

    Two more points:

Ibanez is the now the ONLY player in MLB history to hit two (2) homers in the 9th inning or later in a post-season game.

This entire season and post-season, the Orioles were the ONLY team in baseball since 1900 NEVER beaten by a walk-off hit. Until Ibanez did it last night.

    Raul is 40 years old.

That was truly an awesome night. One of the few bright spots in what was otherwise a failure of a season.

Now Raul looks like he'll be relegated to an occasional start in left, at DH and be Brendan Ryan's designated pinch hitter with Seattle.

He'll probably hit at least one HR against Yanks this season, seems to happen a lot in ex-Yanks first season away from NY.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Yankee Stadium. Here are the lineups for todays game...

I'm willing to bet it'll come via a relief appearance by Boone Logan.

How many PA's is Ibanez likely to get against Logan?

            I'll take that bet.
