  • The A-rod situation

What happened? I know he was not hitting but you are not benching A-rod for several games. Did something happen behind the scenes? I don't buy into that stupid "flirting with fans" story.

how will this work out? A-rod is being professional in the public but I guess he is really mad in his inside?

Will A-rod be traded? Or will girardi go? I think something must be really wrong between the two.

I think he was flirting with the two girls and I almost feel he did it on purpose to push Giardis buttons. He's gotta have a huge ego and being benched isn't gonna help feed how great he thinks he is. Maybe getting some girls phone number helped ease his pain.

Regardless he's clearly thinking only of himself and he is a cancer. Just like Sosa, Bonds and any other player who thought of himself as being better than everyone else. Kobe Bryant isn't helping either by telling Rodriguez to keep telling himself he's the best because Bryant is probably the biggest diva in the sporting world.

I am so happy to have Bryce Harper and Mike Trout come along. I'm sick of these ARod types.

If we trade him, who's on third? Wright?

Jeter? I would rather see him replace Swish in rf. But its possible.

        Nunez. Adams. Mustelier.

        Trade?

        All very very unlikely.

I think I may be finally with you on Jeter moving. Him playing SS opens up the risk of him re-injuring it. Not sure if 3rd would be better for him or RF though.

Rf. Imo. Jeter was always excellent at going back on fly balls. Tracking balls in the air. Not sure he has the reaction time anymore to go to third and I do think it is harder on the body.

That said Jeter to third and A-Rod to right is also a possibility with A-Rod's hip.

Who knows. I hope they get creative and give Nunez a shot. With more reps I think he could be a decent to good player.

And after this post-season even I am scouring on Swisher.

Nobody had any issues with A-Rod as a person until well into his career. In fact, in Seattle, he was often held up a a guy who "played the game the right way." Egomaniacs have always been around and will so long after A-Rod are gone. Trout and Harper will not change that. Plus, there are many who hate Harper already for his personality, etc.

Nobody is going to take on/pay off a 23 mill per year salary for a steeply declining player with perceived media/clubhouse issues (far or not). A- Rod is a Yankee until the end.

I just don't think Harper or Trout will ever become a cancer in the clubhouse like the Sammy Sosa, Barry Bond and Alex Rodriguez types were. Harper and Trout are still young and who knows maybe they both will turn into a couple of J.D. Drews, I don't see it happening but Alex Rodriguez sure changed pretty fast and I don't think Rodriguez was liked very much in his Seattle clubhouse from what I recall. I know after he left Seattle the Mariners won 116 games. He had a great career but at least Trout and Harper seem to be alot more team orientated than Rodriguez ever was. I'm guessing Trout and Harper win more WS titles than Sosa, Bonds and Rodriguez.

The Rangers had some pretty big names while Rodriguez was there but they actually became better after he left. While he was there they were a 71-91 type of team.

They may not - but I don't remember people complaining about A-Rod until he became a Yankee. People complained about his $$$, but not his personality. Too much at least.

Having a team maintain or increase their record when a guy leaves doesn't mean they were a clubhouse problem. There are dozens of more important factors.

He's largely on the Yankees payroll until the end, for sure. But he may play in another uniform. Perhaps with a fish.

ARod a clubhouse cancer? I've never heard that before. All of the 1st place finishes indicate that at worst he was a clubhouse hangnail.

maybe the yanks eat a lot of his salary? I can't believe that Arod and girardi still work together next year. one of the two must likely go.
