  • Reds, A's discussing possible deal for Blanton

Yikes! Don't be a bit surprised if Joe is sent packing in the next week or so. Sounds like a possible deal for Homer Bailey is in the works.

    WAR? Prove it!

Blanton is the A's ace right now and outpitched Dan Haren in the 2nd half of the 2007 season..2008 will be a gloomy year if Blanton's loss brings the expected results!

    "Haren went 10-3 with a 2.30 ERA to Blanton's 6-5, 4.89 before the 2007 all star break. Blanton went 8-5, 3.28 in the second half to Haren's 5-6, 4.15.

Wow, why don't they just trade the entire roster? If this keeps up, Oakland will be lucky to compete in AAA, let alone MLB.

The Red's refuse to deal baseball's number one prospect CF Jay Bruce, who's in the Red's organisation..
The Official Site of Minor League Baseball web site includes features, news, rosters, statistics, schedules, teams, live game radio broadcasts, and video clips.

The Reds could certainly get Blanton if they would part with Bruce! I heard Billy Beane is bidding his time and i doubt that a trade will materialise now with the Reds! I'm sure sure Joe Blanton, with his excellent health, will have at least the same trade value during the season or even next year...

I heard the Reds could have had Bedard if they were willing to trade Bruce, so I wouldn't expect them to change course and include him in a deal for Blanton.

The rumors of Bailey or Cuerto and maybe Votto is a good package for Blanton, however, and at this point I don't blame Oakland for completing gutting the roster. They are clearly rebuilding, so if they can get two more pieces of their future, they have to do it.
