    McCurry, a 22nd-round pick in 2014, owns a 1.37 ERA and 11.7 K/9 IP ratio in 67 minor league relief appearances. He even dominated at the mid-minors, posting a 1.62 mark in 14 games for Midland last year. The Athletics get infielder Jed Lowrie in return.

    Infielder Jed Lowrie is returning to Oakland after a one-year stay in Houston. Within the past four years, Lowrie has been acquired by the Astros twice (once via trade, once via free agency) and A's twice (both trades). "But he's too good of an offensive player not to be in there somewhere every day". 222 with a. 312 on-base percentage while totaling nine home runs and 30 RBI. Lowrie has been traded to the Athletics, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

    Jed Lawrie is the definition of mediocre. In his press conference, he mentioned being disappointed that he had to leave Houston.
