Bedard damaged goods ?

--I don't think the hip was a known issue. It was (or should been anyway) well known to the mariners that he was a risk for some injury. Bedard has never gone though a season without missing time. I think part of that is just that he is less willing than many pitchers to play with a minor injury.
--That is both good and bad. Its good that he listens to his body and doesn't risk further injury (or lousy perfromance) by pitching thru one. Its bad because; a) he will probably never be a big innings horse and b) there are probably going to be times when 80% of Eric Bedard is our best option, but he is unlikley to take the ball on those days.
