  • Strat-o-Matic Baseball Leagues & Tournaments

Hi guys. I'm a new poster here and I'm wondering if there are people interested in Strat-o-Matic Baseball Leagues and/or Tournaments. I'm not talking about the computer version, but the REAL Strat with cards and dice.

Believe it or not, there is a national Strat organization that gets together all over the country for Strat Tournaments. If you are interested in this information on how you can play, just drop me an e-mail at [email protected]

MOST IMPORTANTLY...I am looking for Strat-o-Matic players, experienced or not, to help form a winter league in the Tampa, Florida area. So anyone at all interested in Strat who lives within an hour or two of Tampa, please e-mail at the address below or post your interest in this thread. Thanks.

This isn't much help right now, but I am considering relocating to the Tampa/St. Pete area sometime next year and I'm a Strat-o-Matic fanatic from way back. I played it obsessively between the ages of about 10 and 16. In recent years, I've dabbled with some of these new online sim games, which are fun in their own way, but nowhere near as great as playing SOM face to face, rolling the dice. I live in the Seattle area now, but my parents are in Florida and not getting any younger, so I'm looking into moving there sometime in '08, and I wouldn't mind hooking up for some SOM action. Keep us posted on here if you guys get some games going and I'll get in touch if/when I'm making the move.

I was a big APBA fan myself, back in the day.. Still have the boards and cards from the 1964 and 1967 seasons. My brother and I played the whole '67 season out from beginning to end, and I kept handwritten stats that must have took up about 20 black and white notebooks. My neighbor buds bought football and golf APBA too and we spent a whole summer vacation playing that too. Those were the days :applaud:
