  • Trop Ballpark Visit

Hi all. I'm going to be doing a mini baseball trip and Tampa is on my itinerary. I was wondering you guys could give me an tips about seating, in park food/deals, parking, etc? Some ballpark websites have this info but its typically written by a guy that visited the park once. I'd rather get the "inside scoop" from the real fans.

    Thanks for reading!

Real quick - I like sitting in the outfield, especially in the party deck in left. Deck tix cost the same as upper-level seats but you actually feel like you're at the game. Also, you're right behind Carl Crawford.

Food is ok and overpriced like every other sports arena. There are "streets" in the lower level concourses with lots of choices. I've heard that the batter's eye buffet is pretty good but I've never been myself. The pub near the entrance rotunda is a good place to hang after a win.

Parking is free... IF you have 4 or more people in the vehicle. Save the Earth and all that.

Oh, and don't call the Trop's home city "Tampa". St. Petersburgers tend to be sensitive about that.

      sorry to hijack thread

are the games shown locally every night? I am spending a month in Tampa and will not only want to see a few games live but a few on tv as well.

      thanks

In addition to what Zengator has said, make sure you visit the Ted Williams hitters museum, which is located inside the Trop and is free. Its a wonderful experience. Also visit Fergs Sports Bar which is located on Central Ave. a few blocks from the Trop. Its great either before or after the game. Some os are in sections 301-303. They are in the upper deck but directly behind home plate. Hope both you guys enjoy your visit.
