  • David Murphy

... is having a great spring so far, and Cruz and Byrd are not, while Bradley will spend some time rehabbing.

He had a great August and September, is good defensively and can play center field. Is it possible that Murphy might make the team out of spring training as a starting outfielder? Possibly even the CF over Byrd?

I thought the idea was to have Hamilton in CF this year.
I would love to see Murphy in LF - not sure if he has the arm to play RF.
If Murphy is capable of playing CF and I don't know if he is or isn't, then I would love to see Hamilton's arm in RF. I think their plans are for Hamilton to play CF for a few years and then put him in RF later down the line.

D'oh! I can't believe I forgot Hamilton. Seriously though I was basically asking what Murphy's prospects were to be part of the starting nine in Texas.

Well he should be in the starting 9 but how they run things here I would put money on him being on the bench to start which is exactly where he doesn't need to be. I have heard he is impressing though so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

          Hope he does well

As a fan of both the Sox and the Rangers, he has become my personal favorite on the team. He's done pretty well this spring and I'm pretty sure he will wind up as the starting left fielder sooner rather than later.

I doubt Catalonotto holds him back much, that's for sure. Murphy's a good defensife OF and looks like he might become a very good hitter for average. The Sox might have let a great one get away.

            ****in' Gagne...

Yea, I like Murphy a lot, looks like an athlete. Sox have quite a few chips to get earn championships with.....then again Gagne almost gave it away. Hate them Sox.

Well, with Broussard's granny and Texas taking a 5 run lead (2 runs scored by Murphy of course) it looks like Gabbard's on his way to his first win and the Rangers are well on their way to totally humiliating my Sox over the Gagne deal.

Gabbard's so delightfully predictable. Let on a baserunner, then K and a DP. Let on a baserunner, then K and a DP. Grounder, single, grounder, infield hit, grounder. Groundball pitchers with the stuff to get strikeouts are nasty to deal with unless you've got some speed, and even the Angels are finding it an uphill climb.

David Murphy got his World Series ring on Friday!

Three at bats with the Red Sox and he is a part of history.

Patriot Day game tomorrow starts at 10:00 AM CDT.

See if Rangers can avoid a four game sweep........:cap:

Well the Rangers are getting humiliated by the Whitesox with the Danks-McCarthy trade.. that was stupid.. Danks threw 7 innings 8K's 3 hits.. what a loss of real potential.. unfortunately the Gagne deal is the only thing texas has done right in the past 3o years...
