  • Rock Bottom?

I haven't been on this site since the offseason, been very busy. I apologize

Have we hit rock bottom or what? I have gone to three games this season, and also an exhibition up in OKC. This team is disgusting. The first week looked great. Lost a couple close ones, starters were pitching great, bullpen was ALRIGHT, just the defense wasn't clicking.

Now, nothing is clicking. I am very frustrated. I hate buying Ranger memorabilia, I don't want to pay money to go watch a team that is stuck in neutral, and I am TIRED of the overpriced BS at the ballpark. JourneyMan said it, a beer is $7.00 and in a plastic bottle. A complete joke. This team has brought me nothing but frustrations since I've became a fan. They do not play like a team, they do not act like a team, and they sure as hell can not knock in a man that is in scoring position. I don't even know HOW MANY times I've seen a bases loaded with one or no outs and they completely screw it up. Marlon Byrd is a joke. Jason Jennings is a joke. Don't get me started on FOKUMORI. This team is the worst in the MLB, its apparent that the set date of "2009" Daniels and Hicks has sworn to be a contention year is false. With this team and this farm system, they are going no where.

Look at Danks, who was traded to the Chicago White Sox. Pitched a gem just the other day. Now we are stuck with washed up pitchers (Padilla, Millwood), a guy who is staggered by injury every single month (McCarthy), and a pitcher who has never brought anything to the table (Jennings). Where is Hurley? Where is Diamond? Where are these prospects I've been hearing for YEARS that have yet to make it to the bigs? Why not give them a shot. I understand not rushing a player, but it has literally been YEARS.

I am tired of it. The only players I can legitimately say that come in every game and give it all they've got is Gabbard, Hamilton, and Blalock. I don't even consider Michael Young an all star anymore. His defense lacks, his bat is not the same, and he sure as hell does not get the big hits when put on the spot. I really don't know what to say about this club anymore.

I want to watch them and root for them and show my pride in this team, but i don't think its worth my money or my time to watch this team do nothing but failure. Hicks has no idea what he is doing. He just wants his money. Daniels plan is an absolute nightmare. Not one year under his plan have we had a legitimate season. And Washington is doing everything but managing this team.

It's frustrating and hard to watch a team you love to watch just completely screw up time and time again.

I pray every night they sign Baroid Bonds. That way I can officially end my association with the team with a ceremonial burning of everything I have Rangers on the doorstep of the Ballpark.

Maybe the Rangers should schedule a series against the Fort Worth Cats just so they can win a few games. On second thought, the Cats might take a series from the Rangers.

We've been to one Rangers game so far this year (against the Blue Jays a couple of weeks ago), and the defense and baserunning were both just atrocious.

where they went wrong is not trading off Byrd while he had value.. anyone and their brother would know that he could not have another season like 07.. that was mistake #1
Mistake # 2, should have kept Danks, Young.. would have had younger talent to go with the older washouts..
Mistake #3.. giving someone who is coming off of season ending surgery a guaranteed spot (Jennings).. i've only seen him pitch twice, and from what i see he isn't fooling hitters, and he does not throw in the 90's anymore.. i figure he would have had to fight for a spot..
FU #4 signed Daniels to extention.. without him proving he has what it takes to do the job.
FU# 5... sent already developed Salty, whe can spell Broussard at 1st, Laird at C, and most definately ADAM MELHUSE!!!
FU# 6 SIGNING INJURED PITCHERS FUKAMORI
this list goes on and on....

It doesn't matter if the first 4 starters go 20-0 with a 0.00 era, our number 5 starter will be 0-30 and our releivers will be 0-52 with 52 blown saves cause our offence will not score.

Shoot if the first part can happen i'll take the 2nd. at least it would be an improvment.

NOOOOO don't trade him. Make him stay here in misery like everyone else. I say don't give anyone the chance to go to a winner. If we have to suffer so do they.

he won't miss much, the losing streak will be there once he gets off his ass..

usually when things get rough at work, instead of sticking with everyone as a team, and work through the problems.. i just take a day off.. and let someone else handle it.. that's what i'm all about.. when can i play?

What really makes me pissed is its almost like the players don't care. They lose seven straight, oh well. They win a series, oh well. It's almost like they don't even give a damn as long as they are getting paid.

And also, what has Hicks ever done for the community? He and the Rangers hardly ever give back to the community. I don't understand why i root for a team doomed for failure.

1st game they played California - wow does that date me if I still refer to them as California? - anyway in my 20 some odd years of going to games that had to be one of the more lackadaisical careless performances I have ever seen. It just set the tone for me as far as I am concerned. This team can go to Hicks umm sorry I mean Hell.

My friend just told me a funny fact. The Rangers have not won a game in the United States in about a three weeks. The only games they have really won as of recent were the Toronto games IN Toronto, Canada. Thought that was funny.
