  • Call Ups/Send Downs/Get Rid Ofs

So, through this first month, I've notice several players I think should be called up and several players we should send down.

    Call Ups:
    SP: Eric Hurley (AAA)-(MLB)
    SS/IF: Elvis Andrus (A/AA)-(AAA)
    1B: Chris Shelton (AAA)-(MLB)
    OF: Kevin Mench (AAA)-(MLB)
    RHP: A.J. Murray (AAA)-(MLB)
    C: Max Ramirez (AA)-(AAA)
    3B: Chris Davis (AA)-(AAA)

    keep Saltalamacchia in MLB.
maybe it's time to give up on injury-plagued Blalock and shoot for Davis.

    Send Downs:
    1B: Ben Broussard (MLB)-(AAA)
    OF: Frank Catalanotto (exception) (MLB)-(AAA)

    Get Rid Of/Trade:
OF: Marlon Byrd Avg: .129 OBP: .250 FPCT: .944
SP: Jason Jennings 0-5 ERA: 8.56 WHIP: 1.94

    What do you guys think?

No reason to call up Hurley or Davis yet. Both project to be fine big leaguer's, but don't rush them now. There is no point until september.

What do they learn in Sept that they don't learn now? I am not sure if they are ready or not but at least a little taste of the big leagues might be good.

A pitchers psyche (sp) is a delicate thing. No reason to rush him.

now or september there is no point of when, they definately sit on their prospects, and let their share of washouts take this team to the worst record in MLB.. Its just time to say goodbye to the often injured and delinquent players.. i.e. McCarthy, Blalock..
It's time for a youth movement.. might as well go with it.. it always works out for the Marlins and Diamondbacks..
I would rather suck with a different roster each year than the same players.... that way it's at least not too predictable..

Rushing Hurley? He has been in the minors for atleast 3 seasons. ATLEAST. I have heard of him for years now.

Hurley is going into his 3rd season.. his ERA in 6 starts is 6.46.. which is about the rangers average ERA.. he still needs time, cause our minor league system does not know how to develop young pitchers.. if you ever get a chance.. go check on how Edison Volquez is pitching for the Reds.. it makes me sick to my stomach.
