  • Horrible acquisitions, trades.

What do you guys think are some of the worst acquistions or trades Daniels has mad over the past few seasons? We will go back to as early as A-Rod.

I think THE absolute worse was trading away Chris Young and Adrian Gonzalez. I wish we had them back. What is going on with Byrd? I looked on the roster and he wasn't there?

I agree, signing Cat was awful. He is doing terrible.

Byrd, I think, was put on the DL. As far as trading him this offseason, I don't think there was much of a market. Remember, you have to have a partner to pull off a trade.

The trade with San Diego was horrible because an effective pitcher and an all-around 1B were packaged for a decent bullpen arm and a lousy starter who was injured. They tried to trade high but proved themselves fools at evaluating talent. The Padres looked like smart kids picking on idiots.

But the trade that sent Soriano to the Nationals for junk and a lousy Wilkerson may be more damning. The Nationals forced Soriano to play the OF where he was more valuable while all the Rangers did was cry about it. Showalter was supposed to be a hard ass but he caved in confronting Soriano.

All the other moves pale in comparison to these two disasters.

I wished that they traded any other young pitcher besides Volquez for Hamilton.. that was a pretty fair trade, so far so good for both teams..

omg how much longer are they going to keep broussard?
our young player boggs gets a lead off hit, and broussard promptly grounds into a double play..
            i hate that $(#($)

Geberal consensus was that Volquez needed a fresh start so Cincy took a shot and he looks very promising for them. So far it looks like a good trade for both teams as Hamilton has looked great.

A fresh start? He only pitched 80 innings in 3 years with us.. it's more of the fact that our minor league system is poor at developing talent.. once we fire everyone down there.. things will change.. if i ever happens....
                probably not

I believe his working relationship with the coaches was not good. So yeah, a fresh start. An organizational one, not just at the major league level.

maybe some pitching coaches need a "fresh start"
It is getting old watching other teams succeed with our draft picks..
We have 1/3rd of the "DVD" trio left in our minors.. the other 2/3rd are busy having success.. and it is frustrating to see.. It's funny if you go to the yahoo player page of Thomas Diamond.. it shows a pitcher of a guy wearing a twins hat.. it's pretty funny to see... we are doomed.
