Passed away October 12, 2012. He was born February 28, 1949 in Belleville, IL.
Jim grew up in Columbia, Illinois and graduated from Columbia High School. He earned his B.A. in Finance and Economics from The University of New Mexico in 1971. He played baseball at the high school and college levels where he is still in the University of New Mexico Hall of Fame.
He was then drafted to the Major Leagues where he was a left-handed pitcher for the Texas Rangers (1973) and Chicago Cubs (1974). His baseball career was cut short due to injury.
