    Ray Hutchison was integral in bringing the Rangers to Texas.

    Ray Hutchison, a lawyer instrumental in the development of DART, D/FW Airport and every stadium built in North Texas in the past four decades, died Sunday night at UT Southwestern. He was 81 and had suffered from a heart problem.

    The husband of former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, he and the retired lawmaker are senior counselors at the Dallas law firm Bracewell & Giuliani.

    In his role as a municipal bond lawyer, Hutchison led negotiations to bring the Washington Senators to Arlington and helped get the ballpark built. He also had a hand in the public financing of Reunion Arena, American Airlines Center, Cowboys Stadium and Texas Motor Speedway, The Texas Lawbook reported in 2012.

    Jim Fregosi played for the Rangers from 1973 to 1977. In 1974, he had an OPS+ of 121, hitting 12 home runs in 230 at-bats.

    Former Toronto Blue Jays manager Jim Fregosi died after suffering a stroke on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

    Fregosi suffered the stroke on a Major League Baseball alumni cruise, and was transported from the Cayman Islands to Miami.
