  • What player's are free agent's after this season?

Does anyone know? I know Justin Speier and Scott Schoeneweis are. If you know anyone else please tell me and if anyone knows where to find this info can you give me a link? I know where to find salaries but it doesn't show the years left remaining on the players contracts.

Frank Catalanatto, Ted Lilly, Bengie Molina, Scott Schoenweis, JUstin Speier, and Gregg Zaun are all set to become free agents. I believe, however, that there is an option on Molina's contract for $7.5 mil for next year.

I personally wouldn't have a problem seeing all these guys as Blue Jays again next year.

    I got these from here

So who do you think should be re-signed? I think Speier, Lilly, Catalanotto and Zaun definately should. I also wouldn't mind seeing Schoeneweis re-signed. I like Bengie but his option is a little pricy and I think they should use that money to sign a pitcher if there are any good ones available.

johnson is also a free agent i believe i heard but i'm not sure so don't quote me on that.

speier is our best options other then ryan in the pen and we need him back. same with zaun, cat and lilly. i don't think schoneweis will return because he will be expensive (or jp will just be able to use him dough elsewhere) and tallet will be the new lefty specialist next year. molina is really up in the air. i like bengie and would love him back but like chris said, if we can get a middle-of-the-rotation guy for his salary, he'll be gone in a flash.

Mark Buehrle, I believe, is set to become a free agent as well. He would demand a high asking price, but would look very nice in a Jays uniform if the Jays were to not resign Ted Lilly. However, the asking price might not be as high as it could be, because he is not having a season typical of a that of a player in the final year of their contract.

I think Barry Zito will be available to and I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Jays uniform. How much do you think Zito would cost?

Zito is making 7.9M this season, maybe dump Molina and pick him up?

That would be awsome. I like Molina but Zaun is a capable catcher who will cost much less then Bengie. A rotation like this would be sweet:
                1. Roy Halladay
                2. AJ Burnett
                3. Barry Zito/ Mark Buehrle
                4. Gustavo Chacin
                5. Rookie? (Janssen, Mcgowan, Marcum?) or perhaps maybe even Towers

zito's price would be way too high, too me, he'll almost certianly be in a mets uni next year.

buehrle would be a good fit but i think he would be asking for lots of dough as well. i think getting buehrle is more realistic then zito though.
