  • ALL TIME Jays TEam

Ok so this has been done before, but oh well....bluejays all time team..I am only considering players who would be considered Blue Jays for life...guys who if ellected to the hall of fame would do it in a blue Jays uniform...so anyways

C - Errnie Whitt - who else...Pat Borders? One world series isnt enough..errnie was the man
    1B - Delgado - who else? McGriff? Upshaw?...please
    2B - Alomar - gimmie
    SS - Fernadez - dito
3B - Kelly Gruber - was the face of franchise for a time..
LF - George Bell - love him or hate him MVP.....
CF - Devon White - the catch....thats all
RF - Joe Carter - the hit
DH - Jonny O = Jonny played alot of seasons elsewhere but he is a bluejay through and through...(although a argument could be made for RANCE)

RHP = Dave Stieb - Mr One hitter..******* roberto Kelly
RHP - Pat Hengton - most boring cy young ever
RHP - Roy Halliday - doc
LHP - Jimmy Key - mister consistant

RHP - Duane Ward - could have been all time great
RHP - Tom Henkee - the terminator

Yes he threw a no hitter, but he threw about 4 or 5 one hitters...he had a habit of going into the 9th with a no no and losing it..Roberto Kelly when he was with the yanks broke one up with 2 outs in the 9th....still great though

I would put Olerud at 1B. And Ed Sprague at 3B (maybe).

          Best broadcaster: Tom Cheek.

I agree with Olerud and first.
Delgado, if he goes to the HOF, will probably do so as a Met!! Especially if they win any WS while he is there.

Only if he plays more seasons with the Mets. And he was a better hitter than Olerud, although weaker on defense. I would make him the DH.

And hey, JD, you diss Borders because 'one world series' (actually it was two), isn't enough, but you include Carter and White because of 'the hit' and 'the catch' alone?

Generally though, I would agree with your choices, except for CF. Vernon Wells is a better all-around player than White was; in fact, only Alomar was better in general than Wells.
