Very interesting! You know your Jays very well.

Ricciardi is a good GM, one of the smartest and savviest out there.

      amen to that.

great article to by the way. i remember that first trade by heart. koch was my favorite jay at the time and i was a little guy at the time and i saw the trade on the sportcenter ticker and i was in shock. but the trade turned out for the best i suppose.

I felt the same way when Shawn Green was traded. Except I can't say that worked out for the Jays.

Interesting stuff though, danjulien. I think J.P has been the best aquisition this team has made in recent history.

I know! Koch was my favorite too but yet I trusted J.P. and his new regime. It was tough but the way Hinske turned out in his first year made it easier to swallow..

It's really too bad that Koch had the health problems that he did, and that he didn't have much of a career after the Jays. I must confess that he was one of my favourites too. I was a kid, he had a stellar beard thing, and a 100 mph fastball to boot. What wasn't to like?

I know it's not a trade, but should JP letting Carpenter walk be part of the GM conversation?

it could but imo, carpenter wasn't the same pitcher here then he is in st. louis. he was not that great here at all and i would have let him walk as well.

                  Carpenter..

Carpenter will be part of the free agent package that is upcoming, look for an update of the Ricciardi project probably tonight. Just got in from a great road trip so I need to do some editing and what not!

                    Ricciardi Project Part 2!

Today, I am a trooper! After doing the six hour drive back from the Falls area, I am posting another section of the Ricciardi Project. It is a short one, so to compensate I will post another section tomorrow.

But Carpenter was released, he didn't leave as a free agent.

                        Carpenter..

yeh Free Agency/Releases usually go together in my book, either way free agency has a part of the transaction (becoming one or being one)

TheK, you'll be happy to know I started working on the free agency part today, it's a long way from done but i'll be working on it hopefully at work today. Another part of the trade part has been posted, we're nearing the end.
