  • Shawn Green is retiring (report)

Another great Jay I admired as a kid, farewell Shawn and good luck in the future.

Too bad I never got to see Shawn play as a Jay, I always thought he was one of the most underrated players in MLB histroy. Did anyone else know he was Jewish?

Why does it matter either way?
"All shortstops can dance...Derek Jeter is a fullback with power and speed. Jose Reyes is a tailback with speed and quickness"-"analysis" of the New York shortstops' defense by the genius that is Joe Morgan

Has anyone else noticed that we've had five questions in a row without attempting an answer?

Reminds me of a drinking game where you answer a question with a question.

At any rate, best wishes to Shawn- He'll make a fine coach or announcer even.

Green was always my favourite. What a fantastic player he was. I have never ending bitterness toward Gord Ash for his failure to re-sign him.

Well he did cite that as his reason for wanting to be traded. He said he wanted to go to a place with a large Jewish Community, which I could get if he was playing in Milwaukee but Toronto? Its the most diverse city in North America. Its got every ethnicity and religion you can imagine.

Man, did we ever get a raw deal when we traded this guy...

I remember growing up with him and Delgado being the top two guys on the team. I actually have both their auto's on 8x10's...
