Did you miss Carlos Delgado?? DelGado had two seasons that were every bit the equal of Bautista's 2010.

Bautista had a heck of a season last season and he's on fire right now but Delgado's season in 2000 (as noted above) was just as good, if not better.

However, the best pure hitting performance from any Jay I've witnessed was Olerud's 1993. Pure dominance at the plate.

        If anyone is interested...

        By OPS+
        1993 John Olerud - 186
        2000 Carlos Delgado - 181
        2010 Jose Bautista - 166
        1989 Fred McGriff - 166
        2003 Carlos Delgado - 161

        By WAR
        1993 John Olerud - 8.2
        1986 Jesse Barfield - 7.3
        2006 Vernon Wells - 6.7
        1989 Fred McGriff - 6.6
        1985 Jesse Barfield - 6.6
        2000 Carlos Delgado - 6.5

Surprisingly, Bautista's WAR from 2010 (5.6) comes in at 17th on the Blue Jays all time list.

Yes I agree. That performance reminds me of Edgar's 1995, they both just seem to hit the cover off the ball just about every time.

Bautists hit three homes runs today! He's now hitting .368/.520/.868. Insane!
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

Back to back 50 hr seasons is a distinct possibility. Who else has done that? I'm guessing just Ruth, McGwire, Sosa, and A-Rod?
