First off the site looks great!! I have been reading it for a while now. I have a question so I decided to join the forums

My name is Rick and I am 37 years old, I have played baseball all my life and still do today.

I dont want to step on anyones toes but I would like to know why this site doesnt have a general lounge forum for off topic subjects.

The prospects of a general forum has come up quite a few times in this forum. When this site was created several years ago, the owner's intent was for this to simply be a place where baseball and its many subjects can be discussed. Keeping that narrow (but broad) focus has kept this site unique from the hundreds of other sites where off-topic discussion runs rampant. We keep the focus absolutely on baseball here, and the quality of baseball discussion is some of the best you'll find anywhere.

I've never seen a baseball forum like this. This forum has everything and it's active too. Great job to whoever owns it.

Ricky, the closest thing we have to an off topics forum would be the Between Innings, which is loosely dedicated to anything about baseball that doesn't necessarily fit into the "Current Events", which is the most popular one here.

Team rivalry, cute player names, softball, player uniforms, matching words are all there. We once had a thread about player names, and you could list a name, then the person behind you would like a player with one of those names (first, middle or last name). It was fun while it lasted.

If you need a baseball forum which includes a "chat" forum, then this may not be the right place. If you're very baseball-specific, please check out the various forums. All of the team forums are well spoken for, and we even have a "Teams of Yesteryear" forum, all of which are active and have fans from when they were playing.

Feel free to enjoy as much about BBF as you possibly can, and please see that you poke your nose into all of its intricacies, such as Trivia, SABR, Negro League, Women's, Baseball 101 forum and others.
