Thinking about a thread dedicated to "The Business of Baseball", or something similar.
Many of the stadium threads, especially ones in New York City, often get bogged down with repetitive discussions on moneys used to build ballparks, eminent domain, public vs private financing, etc., good owners/bad owners, and seems to bring out the same handful of folks over and over again to continually voice their pointed opinions on it, with little in the way of actual debate or constructive discussion, and drives the folks who actually want to talk about the ballparks themselves into hiding until the latest storm blows over.
It doesn't seem like the individual stadium threads are the best forums for these polarizing, politically charged issues, and that a forum dedicated to this type of debate (or lack thereof) would give these type of posters the soapbox they're looking for, without getting the other posters (who come here to avoid things like serious political/sociological debate) constantly up in arms. Just a thought.
