I think one issue, from the site's perspective, is we can't verify how legitimite the seller or the items are. If people get ripped off, it would reflect poorly for all parties involved includfing the site.

Overall, I'm not in favor of allowing open selling on BBF. One point is, as the good Captain said, if a transaction goes bad, it'd reflect poorly on the members and the site.

To directly address your second question, it's currently against site policy to post things for sale. However, if you're selling something on someplace like eBay, I believe it's okay to post a link, as long as you don't begin a thread solely for that purpose. But don't hold me to that.
